Marshal is an Academy Award Nominee and highly accomplished Executive and Career Coach. His focus is on results driven achievements - maximizing leadership excellence and bringing career and performance success to the highest level. He has created and successfully managed many diverse companies. As an executive, Marshal has succeeded in both large established and small entrepreneurial business environments.

Marshal is President of the Executive and Career Coaching firm, Backlar Consultants, specializing in the Media/Entertainment Industry. His clients also come from such business sectors as Technology, Healthcare, Finance, Consumer Products and Sales/Marketing. He works with corporate executives and other professionals in areas such as Strategic Career Management, Change and Acceleration, Leadership, Team Building, Presentation Skills and Personal Branding. Marshal also coaches MBA graduates on career paths, business opportunities and personal success as well as coaching leaders in the non-profit sector.

As CEO and President of Cinema Entertainment Corporation, a feature film production company, Marshal set up the financing and personally managed all areas of the business including development, finance, production, negotiations, distribution, sales and marketing. His productions returned an average of 300% on investment. He was Director of Primetime Drama at ABC Television where he oversaw the development and programming of many successful shows for the Network. As Vice President of Production at PEI, he expanded its markets in television, cable, video and film. He was Senior Vice President at the global consulting firm, Right Management Consultants. He was also a Partner in EnterScope Corporation, a proprietary enterprise software company for production.

Marshal has lived and worked in Paris and London. As a Director at the London office of Korn/Ferry International, he established its European Media/Entertainment Industry Consulting and Search Division. In Paris, he developed and packaged co-productions. As Vice President of the Intercapital Group, he developed a business model that led to the expansion and diversification of a production company. As CEO and President of the French corporation, Marshal's S.A., he created and managed this successful Paris business.

Marshal has produced award-winning feature films, television and documentaries. His awards include First Prizes at Cannes, Moscow and Venice Film Festivals and an Academy Award Nomination.

Marshal is a member of the Professional Coaches, Mentors and Advisors, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, and on the Board of Directors, ICCO. He is a graduate of Princeton University with graduate study at the Sorbonne.
